Colorado’s UQM Technologies is promoting its new PowerPhase HD 220, a driveline package with “the most powerful electric motor that UQM has ever manufactured” and an all-new controller designed specifically for the commercial vehicle market.

The PowerPhase HD 220 delivers 700 Nm of peak torque with 220 kilowatts peak and 120 kilowatts continuous power (160 horsepower). It is “market-ready,” UQM says.
Commercial vehicles powered by existing UQM drives include Hino electric city buses, Proterra electric composite transit buses, all-electric medium-duty truck and walk-in delivery vans for UPS by Electric Vehicles International, and Boulder EV delivery vans for Federal Express.

UQM is also promoting its PowerPhase Pro 100 and PowerPhase Pro 135 electric propulsion systems at Booth 401. HTUF 2012 is the event for Sandro Marcantonio, a new member of the UQM sales team.
